Bezoekers kijken woensdag in de Botanische Tuinen in Utrecht naar het opblaasbare hoofd van voormalige president Bush. In de tuinen werd dinsdag een aantal opblaasbare kunstwerken van Paul McCarthy opgepompt. Vanaf 4 juli tot en met 13 september is hier de tentoonstelling Air Pressure van de kunstenaar te bezichtigen. McCarthy kreeg bekendheid in Nederland met zijn Santa Claus, een bronzen beeld van de kerstman met een fallusachtige kerstboom in zijn hand, dat hij voor Rotterdam maakte. Dit beeld, door Rotterdammers ook wel Kabouter Buttplug genoemd, is te zien op het Eendrachtsplein.

Hij wil druk op Israël en de Palestijnen houden bij hun onderhandelingen over een vredesakkoord en de zestigste verjaardag van Israël mee komen vieren. Dat heeft hij gezegd toen hij op het vliegveld van Tel Aviv op het punt stond naar Koeweit te vertrekken.

Ze merkte op dat ze er niet van uitgaat dat Arabische leiders het licht zien en hun historische vijand Israël zullen omhelzen.

Voor alle duidelijkheid deze jongen is van Joods/conservatief christelijke komaf. Zijn werkelijke achternaam is de joodse naam Pearlman. Natuurlijk heb ik alle sympathie voor onze israelische of joodse medemens en het lijkt me dan ook erg onwaarschijnlijk dat we hier te maken hebben met een lid van AL Quaida. De voorverkiezingen voor de Amerikaanse president zijn in dit geval duidelijk de aanleiding voor deze reclamestunt.

The president is apparently able to strictly control who does and does not have security clearance to examine documents regarding the program, citing that giving more people access would endanger national security. His denial is the first of its kind in American history. To quote the article, 'Since its creation some 31 years ago, OPR has conducted many highly sensitive investigations involving Executive Branch programs and has obtained access to information classified at the highest levels,' chief lawyer H. Marshall Jarrett wrote in a memorandum released Tuesday. 'In all those years, OPR has never been prevented from initiating or pursuing an investigation.'"
